European End to End

To qualify for this ride you must have had a previous Iron Butt ride successfully certified.

The ride protocols described in the Rider Guidance document and the Ride Documentation pack must be strictly applied.

This ride is a Multi-day challenge, with three levels to suit the rides LD riding ability. Planning the route and managing their ride time, sleep and fatigue is an important factor for success.

The two furthest points North and South on mainland Europe drivable by road.

The ride is classed as Extreme at the three Levels which are categorised by time taken to undertake the ride:

European End to End rules

The basic rules are the same as for other IBA UK rides:

1. Ride the designated distance in the designated time (see below) on a safe route of your choice.

2. IBA UK requires that you document your ride with photographs. The photo must show BOTH the receipt AND your bike's odometer (mileage) reading IN THE SAME PHOTO. Receipts and odo readings must be legible. Record the Start and End details on Ride Documentation 2 and Ride Documentation 3 respectively.

3. Collect fuel and other receipts along your route and photograph each against your odometer. Track them, along with rest stops over 30 minutes, on Ride Documentation 4.

4. Complete all the remaining documentation in the Ride Documentation pack.

5. Copy all completed documentation and receipts and submit the copies, with your name on every sheet.

Specific Rules

The ride can be North to South or South to North
No ferries are allowed. You must use the bridges which cements the fact you have ridden the whole distance.
Any route through Europe can be taken.

Start & Finish - Part 1

At the start and finish location (Not the Fuel Station) you must take a Photograph of yourself with the Bike. (*)

Riding the Plan - N-S Direction

Take a Photograph of you with the bike at Nordkapp then proceed to the Honningsvåg Fuel Station for second part of Start process. A Fuel receipt is required with the time & date photographed against the odometer.

Ride the Plan through Europe.

Stop at Tarifa Fuel Station for Fuel and a receipt with the time & date And photograph against the odometer.
Proceed to Tarifa end point and take a photograph of you with the bike.

Riding the Plan -S-N Direction

Take a photograph of you with the bike at Tarifa, Spain then proceed to the Tarifa Fuel Station for second part of Start process.
A Fuel receipt is required with the time & date, photographed against the odometer.

Ride the Plan through Europe.

Stop at Honningsvåg for Fuel and a receipt is required with the time & date, photographed against the odometer. Proceed to Nordkapp, Norway and take a photograph of you with the bike.

Additional Information

This ride has been completed on one of the longest practical distances at Insanity Gold Level (<66hrs) with fuel stops every 300 miles (483km)
Riders can Plan a shorter distance and take advantage of a longer fuel stop 350 miles (564 km) Max
